Record enrollment at The Center

Record Enrollment

Though numbers are not the best indicator of true growth, it is encouraging to see God bring more new students each year. My prayer is not that we would constantly grow in numbers, but rather that we would be prepared to guide those God brings along their journey in God's Kingdom.

Class enrollment is nearly 150. This is a record since the new beginnings we experienced in 2007. To me this is still a drop in the bucket compared to the potential that exists. Many classes are near capacity. Seven instructors are now transforming these minds into the likeness of Christ. Thank you for helping to make this a reality!

Many students were drawn to the new offering of a course in Urban Ministry taught by Jeremy Graves.

This semester they will benefit from Jeremy's experience as he worked for God in the heart of Atlanta. There is no doubt that God can use hearts and minds that are opened to how we can best meet the needs of the world around us.

Benjamin Brandon's excitement in teaching history is engaging students and opening their minds to deeper thinking. It is hard not to catch some of Ben's enthusiasm when you are guided through the Roman world or the life of Christ in the engaging style Ben brings to the classroom.

Benjamin is also assisting with the student group I work with, Synergy. This Fall has brought more students to that group to enjoy fellowship, fun and learning together every Tuesday night. Students are leading this group and emphasizing getting out of themselves to serve and to learn as well as have fun together.

Thursday lunches continue to bring students together and provide an opportunity to encourage each other as well as get to know people from other ministries. I am always encouraged to see people taking advantage of this little event that provides some support to students as they face the world each week.

Please keep these and all the campus ministries around Boise State in your prayers.

Volunteers Needed
There are several things around the building that need some help. We are setting up a new PC in the office and in the classroom. Maintenance of the library and other public PCs is needed. Cleaning and yard work around the grounds is needed.
